Warbird
One of our local residents owns this WWII warbird and it is now on display in a new hanger/restaurant at the airport. It is still operational and can be seen flying over our house several times a year. The pilot also owns a P-51 Mustang. The Mustang and this British Spitfire are considered by many to be among the most beautiful war planes ever designed. I must admit, there aren’t any bad angles to view this plane from.
One of the later Spitfires with D Day markings on it, very nice. Was it over here for the 100 years of the RAF with all th eother spits that were flying around

Thanks for the information. I suspect that the P-51 also has historically significant markings as well.

I think you’re right, I believe this is his favorite airplane, although he owns another WWII warbird.

Those are beautiful machines, it makes me sad they had to be used for war.

It IS truly a beautiful plane.
My all time favorite is the Corsair.
I absolutely LOVED going to visit the Air & Space Museum in DC.
Thanks for sharing!

Such beautiful elegant lines. Hard to imagine it is a hardhearted weapon of war. I love looking at aircraft, new ones, old ones, I don’t care.
