Aww…some Mondays Music Moves Me

Aww Mondays

Higher Education

This past week we grilled steaks and shrimp for our two grand daughters as their farewell meal prior to heading off to college. The one on the far right will be a junior and she is on track to graduate a semester early. She already has plans to pursue a masters degree and possibly a clinical doctorate in Sports Training/Medicine. The other grand daughter will begin her college career tomorrow. She also wants to work in sports training and is our family athlete. She has a track scholarship and will continue her career as a high jumper. All of us are proud of the girls.

My wife and I usually make a trip or two to see the older grand daughter and now we are making plans to attend a couple of track meets next spring to see the youngest one compete at the college level. Let the adventure begin.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week is a free choice week at 4M so I think I will just settle into some of my favorite music, Gospel and Contemporary Christian and let the sounds soothe the soul. We live in a disturbing world and I find great comfort in inspirational music, but I find the most comfort in the One who is the inspiration for the music. Have a blessed week.

  1. We hope the kids can stay at school this year. Our niece heads to college for her first year this coming weekend. Such an exciting time, but also an unknown time. We plan to visit her now and then when we are near her school for dog sports.

    1. I think it is important to take time to connect with family as they live their lives and not just special occasions. We will see the middle grand daughter and oldest grand daughter a couple of times before the end of the year and we are planning on attending at least one of the youngest grand daughter’s track meets. Her school is a five and a half hour drive so we will be spending the night somewhere.

  3. I hope the grand daughters have a good year ahead learning, reaching goals, making the mark on the field and in their studies. I enjoyed your contemporary Christian song selections, especially the first one. Although, I know God is with me always there are times when we need a reminder that He is near. “Take My Hand” is a timeless gospel hymn so inspiring and uplifting that no matter what you’re facing you can’t help but feel the presence of the Lord standing by your side. Thanks for sharing and joining us on the 4M dance floor, my friend. Stay safe and be well!

    1. I got to spend an afternoon with Jason Gray and I love his viewpoint and the issues that he addresses in his music. His voice and music are unique and easy to identify when they come on Christian radio. His songs are played often on Sirrus, The Message, radio.

Granddaughters are fun, aren’t they? I have mostly grandsons.. or maybe it’s even – I haven’t counted them lately. I have 3 with the oldest daughter (2 boys & a girl), oldest son (love him so much & so very proud of my son) he has one of each! Youngest son (last counted) was 2 girls & 1 boy and my youngest has a boy! Whew and not to mention my oldest granddaughter has a daughter! So call me Great-Nonny!!! The other grandkids call me Nonnee! Such is life my friend… it’s fun to have a peephole in their lives too! Right?! Almost home & Mercy Me, I never heard of, but it sure tells a good story! Haven’t quite understood why he wears the space suit all through life… hmmmm What a nice story though I have to admit. Ending was superb. Your last tune is awesome and such lovely voices to say the least. I think I’ve heard this one too.. yep, definitely thanks for sharing such wonderful videos my friend. To wind up your tunes with Precious Lord take my hand… touches the heart with such wonderful singers! Thank you my friend… thank you! Your song has touched me also!

  5. We have three grand daughters and a grandson. The grandson is the youngest and a junior in high school. Mercy Me has released some absolutely awesome music the past few years, even though they have been together over 25 years and would be considered icons by some. I just may post a Mercy Me songbook next freebie week, or a Jason Gray medley. Christian and Gospel music have always been a part of my life, but they have been my genre of choice for the past thirty plus years. I can actually remember singing inspirational and spiritual music in junior high choir….and nobody protested…imagine that. The truth is, the answer to every problem in life is found between Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 21:21. When it comes to God, the hardest thing for a person to do is trust and obey. Why can’t we just trust the Creator of the universe and obey His instructions. Oh well, stay safe, stay well, and stay connected. See you next week.

  7. A beautiful thing being able to be so involved in your grandchildrens’ lives. Now they go to college in these challenging times, and I say, may everything work out for them. Their road may be hard but they have you and other family in their lives if things do shut down again. My favorite was the MercyMe song. When it ended – I knew I was going to have tears in my eyes.
