Baby it’s cold outside!!! Last week has been cold and this week is going to be brutal. We are supposed to get several inches of snow and temperatures in single digits with wind chill well into sub-zero. The bluebirds are not happy and the robins are just dazed and confused. We have winter in Arkansas, just not sub-freezing temperatures for two weeks. The good news is that spring is just around the corner.
Monday’s Music Moves Me
Since today is President’s Day and we just changed administrations, the theme at 4M is leadership. Leaders come in all shapes, sizes, personalities, and agendas. Some leaders are methodical, deliberate, seem to take a very long time to come to a decision.. That is certainly an appropriate methodology, but there are times when a quick analysis and decision is required. It might be said that the leader shoots from the hip. Well, some days you just need a “Gunslinger”.
When it comes to leadership and who we should follow, there is only one answer. Precious Lord Take My Hand.
We do feel badly for the critters on these cold days.
The Lord is the leader worth following at all times and no matter what else is going on.

I put out feeders during the winter, but I let the birds find their own food through the spring, summer and fall.
Yes, there is only one leader truly worth my time and attention. Have a blessed week.

I saw Fayetteville was only 8 degrees this morning – that would be a bit chilly up here in the Southern Tier of New York, too. Is that your bluebird photo? Loved it, and loved hearing John Fogerty this morning, too. Stay safe with the temperatures and snow.

Currently (1:22 p.m.) it is 6 degrees with a wind chill of -12. That only happens about once a decade here. We get low temps and some snow, but this is supposed to last well into next week.
Yes that’s my bluebird photo. Virtually all of the photos you see on this blog come out of my camera or phone.
Glad you enjoyed Fogerty. He is one of my favorites. Have a blessed week.

We are on our 5th day of not making it about zero. A good arctic blast is something we look forward to every year, but this is day 11 of it and we are ready for some warmer weather so we can be outside and go for long walks again. It’s -22 this morning, so it will be another short 20 min walk for today but it should start slowly warming tomorrow. The bird photo is lovely.

Lucy and I don’t walk anywhere in -22 temperatures. I ride the recumbent elliptical and Lucy naps. More snow tomorrow and warmer weather coming next week. Hurry up springtime.

There are a lot of normally warm climates that are going to get very chilly for a few days.

We feed the hummingbirds and all other birds. It’s cold here, but they come and have food. I can’t imagine being that cold. I hope the freeze moves on and soon.
Leadership. I’m with you on who to follow.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. 🙂

At -6, with a wind chill of -20, it is definitely too cold for me. I am ready for spring to show up.

Oh brother, y’all are having some nasty weather. We’re getting hit some but nothing like our neighbors to the west. I’m so glad that spring isn’t too far away but we know how those late winter storms can hit still in early spring, so we aren’t out of the woods really until mid-April. I’m going to think positively, though. I love your song picks for this week’s theme! “Take My Hand Precious Lord” brings back some good memories from my youth. Beautiful, beautiful song and oh so warming to the heart. Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

Fayetteville, Arkansas hit -20 last night for the coldest night on record. Yes, 10 years ago we had 22″ of snow on May 5. Most of our heavy snow falls (8″-12″) occur in late February to early April. We have about 6″ of powder on the ground now and another 2″ 5″ is supposed to arrive tonight into tomorrow afternoon. I like the snow, but I am not a fan of sub-zero temperatures…makes me have a great deal of respect for the early settlers.
Glad you enjoyed the music selections. Have a blessed week.
