To your commenter wanting to know what kind of birds these are, my guess (as a beginning birder) is the starling, a bird that shouldn’t even be in the United States to begin with except for a group of people many years ago who wanted to introduce all the birds mentioned in Shakespearean works into the United States. It’s actually an interesting story. Let’s just say I dislike them. They certainly are bully birds and are common where I live in New York State.
Driller, I don’t know if you got my first comment. On WordPress blogs, I am getting messages in my preferred browser (Firefox) that the link has expired when I try to log in using Twitter. So I am trying Chrome. Same thing happened so holding my breath. I believe (responding to one of your commenters) that I believe these are starlings, If so, yes, they do have a reputation for being bullies. HIss, boo!
There’s a few in every crowd.

There are indeed, and they ruin the party for everyone.

They are bullies too. I watch the hummingbirds fight when there is plenty of places to eat. They want the entire feeder to themselves. Great shot.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. ๐

Starlings gather in surrounding trees, then swoop down on the feeders and just overpower the other birds.

These are starlings and they are almost always in pretty large groups. They will devour everything in every feeder in a matter of a couple of hours.

I think I am moving on. I took down all the feeders today. Spring is here, so the birds can feed themselves until the first freeze in the fall.
