Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aww Monday

Monday’s Music Moves Me

The theme this week at 4M is songs about animals. While Lucy is the subject of the Aww Monday post, I will spare you the experience of listening to “How Much is That Doggie in The Window”. You’re welcome.

First up this week is a song about a dog. Everybody thought Ol’ Red was the best tracking hound in the state, but someone found a way to distract this canine from his primary job.

Reaching even further back into the country charts is a song I remember my dad liking when I was just a youngster. Eddy Arnold was a country singer with the voice of a pop crooner like Sinatra. The song, “Tennessee Stud”.

This last song has a local story behind it. When we moved to Bentonville, Arkansas in 1987 the local high school mascot was the tiger. I don’t remember what college march was being used as the school fight song, but by 1990 a song from Rocky III became the new fight song for the school and continues to this day, “Eye of the Tiger”. Have a blessed week.

  2. Driller,

All I kept thinking was Blake sure does look young here! I’m so glad he cut his hair. lol He’s a very talented singer/songwriter and enjoy his presence on The Voice. He’s my favorite judge on the show. “Eye of the Tiger” is a fight song for a lot of teams from what I gather. I never knew this until recent years, too. Nice picks this week! Oh yeah, give Lucy a pat on the head and tell her her I said, she’s really pretty.

  3. The doggie’s face is priceless. Am not so much for country music, one of the things I as a Dutchman(woman) never have gotten used to. Have a great Wednesday:)
