Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aww…some Monday

Last Friday was Independence Day. It is the celebration of this nation’s freedom and independence. I believe God has blessed this country beyond the wildest dreams of our nation’s founding fathers. It is not a stretch of the imagination to state that we have become the greatest nation on earth and in the history of the world. Freedom has always come with a price. We have given many of our finest sons and daughters, on battlefields around the globe, to ensure that we can worship as we please, seek happiness as we please, and enjoy life. Happy Birthday America. I trust that you were able to celebrate with friends and family.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

The theme this week at 4M is freedom of choice, and I feel the need to continue the theme of Freedom.

  1. Due to all the constant fireworks we longer celebrate this holiday and this year we traveled and stayed at a place where we would not hear fireworks 24/7 on a three day weekend. It is sad people seem to find the only fun in the 4th of July is making loud noise that scares animals and many people as well as being inconsiderate in setting off fireworks until late into the night. The professional shows are very nice but so many have to be home setting off their own boomers. Sad really.

  2. We go to the local minor league baseball park and enjoy their fireworks display. I’ve never been big on spending a lot of money on something just to watch it go up in smoke. Last fall, a long running battle with an ear infection cost Lucy most of her hearing, so fireworks don’t bother he much anymore. We used to put her in her kennel and turn the stereo on if we were going to be gone because it got pretty noisy in our neighborhood.

  3. God Bless America. We haven’t done fireworks in years and it was pretty quiet here. The kitties were happy about that.

  4. Happy Birthday, America! Perfect playlist for the occasion.👌 We celebrated our own birthday on July 1.🍁 Fireworks are lovely to see, but all the neighbourhood yahoos setting them off night and day aren’t nice at all, especially for the resident dogs.

  5. Belated Independence Day wishes to you, my friend! I’m in agreement with you. America is a blessed nation, more so than our founding fathers could ever imagine. It’s a struggle to stay ahead of those who keep trying to topple this wonderful country over and all I can say it’s by the grace of God that we haven’t fallen completely. I love the energy and message of your song selections! Thanks for sharing and for joining the party this week, dear friend. Have a boogietastic day!

If you are looking for patriotic music, few genres beat the country genre, and these songs did not disappoint. To continue the discussion about fireworks: I know the founding fathers hoped our independence would be celebrated with illuminations but I can hope that drone displays can at least partially replace fireworks for the illuminations. I think most dogs, and every veteran suffering from PTSD, would welcome that. The last few years we’ve stayed home and enjoyed fireworks on TV. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. I love the idea of drone displays, but I also enjoy public fireworks displays. Our city and the minor league baseball team both have excellent shows each year. I do understand the concern for pets and PTSD patients though.

I’m a little bit Rock N’ Roll while Marie is a little more Country…hahaaa. yes, I watched the Donny and Marie show. These are nice but, I’m a Canadian, so ….I do appreciate patriotism. Did you watch 1883? Faith Hill and her Husband were excellent in that mini series
