Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Easter is a very special day and having the entire family together is a special kind of “”Awesome”. Distance and schedules are making it more difficult for everyone to be in the same place at the same time. We are thankful for this day and our hearts are happy when we know that everyone arrived back at their homes safe and sound.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

The theme this week at 4M is whatever music moves you. Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday! We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Life can be difficult and some days just seem to be more than we can handle. For the Christ follower, we can face tomorrow, because He lives. Have a blessed week.

Soon another chapter will close in the life of our family. Saturday was “Senior Day” for her college track team. Yes, our youngest grand daughter is competing in her final year of college athletics. It is a bittersweet time for this old papa with a camera. We have watched soccer, dance, and track events since this young woman was playing under-8 soccer. She always had a competitive spirit that drove her to accomplish things that some would tell her was not in her future. The results speak for themselves. She won a conference championship in high school and finished second in the state as a high jumper. At one point she was in the top 50 of high school senior jumpers nationally. She won another conference championship as a college freshman and now her career is drawing to a close. It’s been a journey that I wouldn’t miss for the world.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This is Easter week, so I am going to depart from the assigned theme and focus on music that reminds us of the the greatest sacrifice in all of history and the fact that God loves us more than we will ever know. How can we not give Him or love and praise for what He has done.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week the theme at 4M is “Whatever Moves You”, The other evening I was working on the computer and my wife came in the office with her phone and said, “Listen to this.” I was moved. The artist is Kacey Musgraves and the song, “The Architect”. Kacey’s latest album, Deeper Well, dropped Thursday night and I have already ordered my copy. I checked her latest tour schedule and Dallas is the closest she will come to our town. There are a couple of other groups that will be on the tour and worth a listen. Here ya go!

Traveling with Kacey will be the group, Nickel Creek.

Also on the tour will be Father John Misty.

Have a blessed week.

Recently we had a special week-end guest. Our newest great-grandson and his parents spent a week-end with us. He is now 2 months old and weigh a little over 8lbs. That’s quite a change from th 4.2 lbs upon his arrival in January. He seems to be a very happy camper and the parents are doing very well. All is good.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week at 4M we have two themes to choose from…#1 It’s National Pistachio Day, so how about spelling pistachio using Song Titles (or Artists/Bands if you prefer).  #2 Since it’s a leap year, build your picks with “leap” or  “jump” song titles. I’m going to roll with #2. Have a blessed week.

Aww…some Monday

Those of you who have followed this blog over the years know that I have spent a lot of time sharing the adventures of the grand kids. You have seen them since they were little more than toddlers all the way through college. Last week you got a glimpse of our oldest grand daughter and our great-grandson.

In May, our middle grand daughter will graduate from college with her masters degree in sports therapy. Since her sophomore in high school, she has wanted to be a trainer on the D1 level of college or a professional sports team. Last Thursday she got the call and she will begin her professional internship with the AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs! Livin’ the dream! Here are her own words, you can feel the excitement.

GO CUBS GO!! 🤍🐻—— It is with every ounce of joy in my heart that I officially get to say this season I will be working for the Chicago Cubs organization as an Athletic Training Intern. I will have the great opportunity to be working with the Double A team, the Tennessee Smokies right after graduation until the end of the season.

Truly, truly all glory to God for this absolute dream!! Thank you to my friends and family for supporting me in this process and of course UCA Athletic Training Program for preparing me and setting me up for success in this field.

Here’s to rest of the semester and finishing school with a bang. And as always, Roll Bears and Go Cubs 🐻🤩

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Well, to celebrate the theme of love and Valentine’s day, the theme this week at 4M is love songs or songs about breaking up. Since May will mark our 50th wedding anniversary, I am going to stick with love songs or song that give a nod to long term relationships. Let me say that, contrary to popular belief, love is a choice not an emotion. Love and marriage are hard work. You have to make a daily commitment to express your love to your spouse. You have to consider what makes them happy and what is in their best interest and do those things. I can tell you, without any doubt, the only person that truly loves me more than my wife is Jesus Christ. Everything she does seems to have me in mind. There is not enough space on this blog to give all of the examples of her showing her love towards me. I would be completely lost without her in my life.
