2018 Christmas Music Marathon – Day 4

As soon as the Turkey has been consumed and the last football game has been played on Thanksgiving Day, all thoughts turn to Christmas. For children it is the most special time of year. For many adults it is a time of fond memories.

The bear in this image is about 35 years young and the rocking chair is entering it’s seventh decade. They both belong to me. One year my job required that we relocate to Dallas, TX and I would be there by myself for a couple of months, so my wife bought me a roommate. His name is Boomer. Yes, I am an Oklahoma Sooner by birth and education so it was only natural that my personal mascot carry the pride of Oklahoma. The rocking chair was something that Santa left under my tree around 70 years ago. I was probably about two. Several years ago I refinished it and now it sits under the tree again. Our grandkids have all sat in this special piece of furniture. I’ve been waiting all year for this. Have a blessed day.

Christmas is the season of magic and memories and I love it when I am around children during Christmas.
I love this song by Clarkson. You always have such fresh Christmas music that nobody else seems to have.

  2. Driller,

I love teddy bears! I have the rocking chair my grandparents gave me which I passed to our oldest daughter. When her daughter is old enough, then I will make sure DD#1 passes the vintage rocker to her little girl. 🙂 I began listening to Christmas mewsic on Black Friday, not because of the shopping mind you, but because it was the day after Thanksgiving and that’s my cue to crank out the Christmas tunes. Thanks for sharing and boogieing with the 4M crew!

    1. The rocker will be passed to the grandson. There is a rocking horse that my dad made for our daughter that will go to the oldest granddaughter. I may have to feature that later in this marathon. Yes, I wait until Black Friday to crank up the Christmas music. Here on the blog I try to bring a little of the Christmas story and spirit of the season to those who stop by. Thanks for the visit. Come back soon, the music changes each day.
