Aww…some Mondays Music Moves Me

Aww Mondays

Lucy after “Spa Day”. She has had a bath, her hair cut, and nails trimmed. The House Princess looks and feels like a million bucks.

Local Farmers Market

Every Saturday morning the town square turns into a farmers market. The vendors are open at 7:30 a.m. and by 8:30 a.m. there are hundreds of people shopping for flowers, vegetables, jellies, even a blacksmith is turning out items for sale.

You can get your morning cup of coffee and browse the other vendors wares.

There are some lovely murals adorning the walls of buildings and a myriad of public artwork in our town these days. I will have to do a special post featuring some of the better pieces. This was my first real adventure since my knee replacement and I have been cleared to drive and resume normal activities. I am already looking forward to next week.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week the theme at 4M is free choice. It is no secret that I like inspirational music and the hymns of the church are at the top of my list. Recently Carrie Underwood released an album titled “My Savior”. Later today I will be purchasing this audio delight. Here are a few examples.

The first song takes me back to my youth and church camp. Falls Creek is located in southern Oklahoma and is the largest Baptist youth camp in the world. In my teens, as many as 9000 attended a six day camp and there were six sessions. One of my all time favorite hymns is a memory from Falls Creek and Carrie does the best arrangement I believe I have heard in decades. I can actually hear a little Patsy Cline influence.

Lucy is a well spoiled dog!! That’s okay though.
These videos of Carrie Underwood are wonderful. It kind of shows where she is in her career where she pretty do what she wants. I might have to get this album.

I bet Lucy enjoyed being fussed over. I love the mural you showed part of, with monarch butterflies and flowers. Our monarchs have just showed up. What flying jewels they are. And Carrie’s voice, so pure.

Love your pickins there my friend. Love Carrie Underwood too. Poor girl going through some trying times right now though. Being as she’s going through a divorce. Somehow I just knew that wasn’t going to last long and there are so many roomers like of infidelity that he cheated on her with Miranda Lambert her friend. HOLLYWOOD! They’re a bunch of jerks anyway! Sorry I’m so late. Have a great week my friend & thanks for joining us. hug

  5. John,

Lucy steals the aww in this post. Excellent photo session of your local farmer’s market.

I can relate to “Victory In Jesus” also being a favorite hymnal from my childhood. I recall some Sunday mornings I really hated being forced to go to church but as soon as this song was sung by the congregation my sour mood lifted. Carrie hasn’t sounded this country in quite awhile. She does a lovely job on “Softy and Tenderly”.

There’s nothing quite like beginning things with worship & praise songs. Thanks for hitting the 4M dance floor this week, my friend!
