That is a shot of life these days. It is rare to see anyone just sitting and thinking, there is always a phone in hand and something going on with it. Great shot.
Hope the square has some secure Wi Fi! (A comment – there seems to be something in the upper right hand corner – almost touching the man’s head – almost seems like a fold in an old time photograph. Either that or my eyes are playing a trick on me.)
I don’t live for my phone but I know so many do. I guess partly it is my age, I have more important things to do than stare at an inanimate object. I guess I am old fashioned. But I sure get this. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent B&W capture. The age of technology is so invasive. You can’t hardly go anywhere without seeing people with their noses buried in the phones. Quite frequently, I go to my doctor appointments without my phone and as I look around the waiting room almost 100% of the people are reading on mobile devices or maybe playing games. I’ve noticed many waiting areas don’t have near the stash of magazines at they did in the past. I can’t blame the Office Manger for not wanting to waste money to provide entertainment to folks who won’t be flipping through them. I still enjoy doing that, though.
If the waiting office has an automotive, outdoor, sports, or cooking magazine, I would be interested. But you’re right nearly everyone has replaced paper with social media.
This picture looks very familiar. Everywhere we go, we can see both the young and old “staying in touch” on their hand phone. Have a happy day.

Yes, it seems that our cell phones have become a part of one of our appendages,

I believe what you are seeing part of a small branch with the Christmas lights in place, just beyond his head. I noticed is too.

Perfect. It embodies peacefulness, which phone shots don’t tend to do.

All too often the phone is the bearer of chaos and not tranquility.

Some people choose crossword puzzles, some read books and some spend their idle hours on social media.
