Sandee You had Ben Franklin and we had Woolworth’s. A time gone by. I love it that it’s in black and white. Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
DrillerAA We had Woolworth and TG&Y. TG&Y was Oklahoma based, so it was the one I shopped at as a kid. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
messymimi's meanderings Oh, how i still love Al’s Five and Dime. The prices are higher, but they still call it that. Beautiful photo. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
DrillerAA It is amazing how small some of the stores were, but they seemed to have almost everything we needed. LikeLike Reply
Lisa Like Sandee, we had Woolworth’s downtown, which is where we shopped. That’s a great photo, I love the black and white, it sets the bricks off nicely. LikeLike Reply

My GBGV Life We saw one like that in Winterset Iowa. Sad the stores are closed but nice to be able to remember them. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply

Alana Mautone (@RamblinGarden) Yes, I remember Ben Franklin, from my years of living in the midwest. And Woolworths. And TG&Y….. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
Kathe W. Perfect photo in black and white! How about all the lost stores- the five and dimes etc! Have a lovely day! LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
DrillerAA With the renewed interest in shopping locally, I think some of these stores might thrive again in smaller markets. LikeLike Reply
Emille Since I only lived here since the mid eighties, I don’t know these times, but they must have been good. There is a Woolworth I know though, and loved to shop there in my vacations! Wow your football captures are impressive! LikeLike Reply
