Aww…Monday’s Music Moves Me!

Aww…some Monday

We’ve been on vacation. What do retired people take a vacation from, you ask. Like everyone else, we escape the daily grind, such as it is. Yes, much more of our time is ours to do as we please, but we do have responsibilities and spending a few days away from our normal life is a pleasant experience. We spent a week in St. Augustine, Florida! Yes, we flew and too everyone’s surprise, we had no flight cancellations or delays and we had no problems getting our rental car. Of course my wife/travel agent booked the trip several months in advance to minimize the possibilities of travel woes. So what did we do?

We drove along the beach one day on highway A1A. I never got at T-shirt.

We spent part of a day at the beach. It was a red flag warning day so we just walked along the surf.

We spent one day on the “hoop on -hop off” trolley touring Old Town St. Augustine. It was a good day.

One of the prettiest streets in America.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

In keeping with the theme of my photos, the theme at 4M this week is vacation songs. I know that sounds like a difficult theme but you have to bend the rules just a little to get some unique entries into this category. Have you ever taken a driving vacation where you just headed in a general direction without a plan and stopped whenever the mood struck you or you saw something interesting? Well, it’s a little like sailing into the mystic.

  2. I love the idea of a beach vacation but not during the summer. That would be way too hot for me. I would enjoy visiting Florida anytime after Thanksgiving through late March. We were there one year in late March. The weather was beautifully sunny and while it got kind of warm during the day, as soon as the sun set there was a bit of a nip. It was really nice, though. We were on the west coast staying with friends in Naples. I like your song picks for this week. Thanks for joining the party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!
