Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aww…some Mondays

It’s high school track season and Thursday there was a meet at one of the local schools. The meets begin at 3:30 pm and can last past 8:00 pm. I rarely stay for the last events because it starts getting chilly. I left around 6:30 and the temperature was already in the mid forties, with a breeze from the northwest. I spent my time focusing on some of the running events this week, especially the baton pass in the relays. Relay races are won and lost during the exchange of the little aluminum tube.

Hurdles are always fun to watch and this new-to-me event called Shuttle Relay provided me a new photo opportunity. Can you tell that I managed to get onto the infield of the track. That is the place to be for the best photo-opps. How do you get onto the infield you ask?

I took some of my photos from the previous meet (scroll down a couple of posts for examples) and gave copies to the coaches. It also helps if you dress in the team colors of one of the schools. I told them to give the images to the kids or their parents. They were most appreciative and no one asked me to leave the field. Yes, I will be carrying these images to the next event and passing them out to the coaches. See ya on the infield!

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Easter Sunday is Resurrection Day for the Christ follower. The promises of the Old Testament and are fulfilled in Christmas and Easter. The promised Messiah arrived on Christmas morning and the Savior conquered death on Easter. These two celebrations are the essence of the Christian faith. The fact that we can have victory over death and step into eternity to enjoy the celebration of a new life provided for us by Christ is cause for endless celebration. Here are a few of my celebration tunes. Have a blessed week.

I love your photos. I especially love the social engineering you did to get onto the infield!

My wife and I spent midweek at your neck of the woods checking out Crystal Bridges again.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Easter.

    1. I like the term “social engineering”. It’s much better than “gate crashing”.
If you were at Crystal Bridges, you were about three miles from our home. We were there a couple of weeks ago to see the Riveria exhibit. It’s always a good way to spend part of your day.

  3. Your sports photos were great, as always, and your plan for getting onto the infield was perfect. A big win-win for everyone – you, the athletes, the families. You may never know how much one of those photos will mean to someone. When I listened to Joey + Rory I could help but think about how young Rory was when she passed away from cancer. She had such a beautiful singing voice. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. Rory was a treasure taken far too soon.
I will admit, I surprised a family with a photo book of their daughter’s senior basket ball season. They were beyond thrilled.

  4. That hurdles photo is amazing and I bet the kids and families would love to have still photos of their kids in their sports. You should be the school photographer for sports! The photos can be for the kids, the yearbook, the paper. You do a wonderful job!

  5. I hope y’all had a blessed Easter Sunday. Celebrating the resurrection of our Lord is a happy remembrance of all He did so that we might have a place with Him in heaven some day!

I love that feature old time hymnals! Your picks always bring back fond memories from my childhood days spent in a tiny church down some small holler in southern WV. The beginning where my belief in Christ started.

You capture sport shots beautifully! I think you would make a great school photographer. That’s a very good idea to share your pictures with the coaches. Who knows where this might lead you. 🙂

Thanks for joining the 4M party. Have a boogietastic week!

  6. Love the black and white photography. That was me in high school. I loved track.

Great playlist. You always pick the very best.

I’m sorry I’m so late. Workers showed up this morning to tear out our kitchen for the last part of the remodel and we had no idea they were coming. We worked our behinds off cleaning out all the drawers and cabinets.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. 🙂
