Aww…some Monday
I got a chance to photograph the local high school boys soccer match last week. Usually the girls play at 5:00 pm and the boys follow at 7:00 pm. On a chilly spring evening the late game can be not-so-much fun and darkness will impact the lighting. This week the boys got the early match. One thing you will notice about the boys match is they spend more time in the air. You will see the girls use a “header” on a scoring attempt near the goal. The boys will use the header to change the direction of play and control of the ball. Anyway, It was a great match but the good guys lost 3-1.

Monday’s Music Moves Me
The theme this week at 4M, “Music is Medicine for the soul.” Build a playlist with songs that is emotional soothing or pick song titles or bands relating to medicine. Music is indeed medicine for the soul and it can soothe the soul, inspire the soul, even torture the soul. Music that comes from a spiritual, inspirational, or gospel background can draw the soul closer to the Creator. God can use music to show us how much He loves us, teach us about Scripture, and prepare us to spend eternity with Him. I love many genres of music, but the music that can truly make a difference in my life is the music that causes me to praise, honor, and worship the God of all Creation. Here we go.
Regardless of our opinion about the existence of God, His love, and whether or not we will spend eternity in Heaven, Scripture makes one thing very clear, “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him “the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philipians 2:9-11) The soul is eternal and will spend eternity somewhere. There are only two options and God has allowed us to choose our final home. I would encourage you to choose wisely.
It has been said that there is a God size hole in the heart and nothing can fill it but Jesus. We spend our entire lives looking for joy, peace, and contentment. The truth is, we were probably looking for Jesus.
Those are certainly Aww…some action shots! My twin nieces played soccer throughout middle school and high school – once we moved back to Washington State I loved going to watch them play. 🙂 LOVED your song choices!

Our daughter and two of the grand daughters played the sport. I now find myself watching English Premier League matches on television.
Glad you enjoyed the songs. I love sharing the message of the Savior through music.

Love your action shots. You and your camera are one. Love your playlist too. I always do.
Thank you for the kind comment you left the other day. I knew we’d been blogging buddies for many years, but had no idea it was that many years. It’s been most enjoyable.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. 🙂

Standing behind the camera is a favorite place of mine. The photos are just what I see through the lens…well, kind of. That might be the subject for another post.
Yes, I was surprised how far we go back into the blogosphere and it has been an enjoyable encounter from the very beginning.

We know from dog sports we learn a lot from still photos. Maybe the coaches could learn some things from your photos. Interesting how you noticed the differences in boys and girls play.

Great captures! You have such an eye for photography.
You’re absolutely right everyone is looking for God. They just don’t know it. I believe that’s why many are led astray trying this or that to find real peace and joy that only Jesus can give. I’m thankful for God’s loving open arms that surround me daily. Where would I be without Him? Like the song title, We All Need Jesus.
Thanks for sharing beautiful, heart stirring songs. It’s always good to see you at the 4M party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

People would think, from seeing your action sports photos, that you were a professional sports photographer. Yes, I think they are that good. Morgan Wallen had an interesting voice so I looked him up online (I’m not a big country fan so many names I’m not familiar with) and found that he had competed on The Voice. It’s nice when someone who didn’t win one of these contests ends up hitting it big. Alana ramblinwitham

I appreciate your kind comments but I assure you I am not a professional. Most pros know more about photography than I will ever learn. I have learned three things about some sports images. Get the ball, the face, and tell a story. Sometimes over three hundred images are taken to get four or five that are truly worth sharing. Still, there is no place that I would rather be than standing behind the camera when the game starts.
