Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Recently our great-grandson spent the day with us. Nana decided to bake some cookies and X-man’s first question was, “Can I help?” He makes the fourth generation in the kitchen, Nana, our daughter, our grandcrew, and now the great grand! Life is Aww…some!

Don’t forget to lick the paddle. The finished cookies were pretty good too. Have a blessed week.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week is a freedom of choice week at 4M which is a perfect transition into Independence Day. I going to feature a few tunes about freedom and independence. I am reminded that, in spite of all of our troubles, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. The grand experiment of a Democratic Republic has taken a beating lately, but it has still proven to be the best form of government devised by man. So in honor of this nation’s birthday I will let freedom ring.

God bless America indeed. Have a blessed holiday celebration.

  1. Besides Elton and Bob Marley I don’t know the others, they are Americans probably because I am from the 60/70 and thought I know a lot of singers. Freedom is something normal in Europe, unless you are in a prison, lol

I’m with your great grandson…licking the batter is great and, yes, I still do that:)).
Very patriotic songs and the man, at the last, sung that song perfectly. He has a great voice. I’m in Canada so I too love my freedom and never take it lightly. We are very lucky to live where we are.

I am hoping you are having a happy 4th, too. What a cute photo opp! I am visiting Plymouth, MA right now and wow did they put on a parade for a town of some 45,000 people. I enjoyed your music, especially the live versions of Philadelphia Freedom and All Right now. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. A new chapter in life begins with the grand children. It’s going to be a special time.
We’re going to the local minor league ball park for a little baseball and some great firefworks.
      Have a blessed 4th.

  5. What great captures of your grandson and your wife! Moments like this will live forever this little fella’s memories. 🙂 All three of my kids loved helping out in the kitchen. My son now does most, if not all of the cooking for he and his wife. He really enjoys cooking.

I like the direction you went with your song picks. You sparked my imagination for a possible theme next year. 🙂 I enjoyed your music. The first video really had me up on my feet and Sir Elton takes me back to my younger years.

Thanks for joining the 4M party, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

    1. I just kind of stumbled into the John Batiste song and I chose Alan Jackson over Ray Charles this year. Home Free was a no brainer for me as well as Retired sailor Generald Wilson. Bob Marley, Sir Elton John and Free are blasts from the past for me personally. Putting this post together got me to thinking about Veterans Day and what tunes I want to feature then. I’m thinking songs from the Vietnam era since that was when I served. Thanks for stopping by Driller’s Place and have a very blessed week.
