Lucy at 6
Lucy is our 6 year old American Cocker Spaniel. She is lovingly referred to as the “House Princess”. Our girl will turn 7 in December and while she still acts like a young pup, she really is a mature lady. Lucy is the center of entertainment and source of constant joy around our abode. She is the epitome of happiness that comes with four paws and a fur coat.
Monday’s Music Moves Me
This week the theme at 4M is to give honor to the Dog Days of Summer by posting songs about animals. For the first tune I am going to bend the rules a little and I use the photo above, of Lucy, for my inspiration. One could argue that Lucy is the short version of Lucille and that makes “Lucille” by Little Richard a song about animals…well, at least one cocker spaniel. Can I get a witness?
Honestly one could do a whole Beatles playlist that fits the theme, I Am The Walrus, Rocky Raccoon, Hey Bulldog, Blackbird, Bluejay Way, etc. I think I’ll go on a little discovery trip and try to locate tunes that are new to me. Let’s see how this goes.
Wonderful music. Yes, “Lucille” will do quite nicely for your Lucy.
The last one is meant to leave the eyes a little leaky, right?

I’m pretty sure the last song reminds us that the hardest part of owning a pet is that day we have to say goodbye.

You and Lucy are lucky to have each other. She is super cute and we are positive she gets nicely spoiled being and only dog.

Lucy and her humans are indeed blessed to be together. We like to say that she is not spoiled, she is just loved a lot.

I’m amazed at how many animal songs are out there. I found the rooftop Beatles concert especially interesting because there was a rooftop concert scene in the movie, “Across the Universe.” I had no idea this had been a real thing!

I was stunned at how many Beatles songs had animals in the title.
I believe that rooftop concert was their last performance as a band.

Miss Lucy is a precious and beautiful girl. I know she rules the roost. As it should be.
Love your videos and especially the last one. Reminds me of our angel Little Bit. She was the best pup ever. We miss her so.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. 🙂

That’s cool you have a song up for your pretty girl, Lucy. 🙂 Little Richard was a character. “Mama Lion” is an introduction as is “Dig a Pony”. Chris Stapleton’s song is new, too. Nice set!
Before I go, I want to pass on a prayer request for my daddy. He had a heart attack on Saturday. On Sunday they did the cauterization surgery and ran into some complications. Because of his black lung he couldn’t get enough oxygen, so they ended up having to heavily sedate him and put him on the ventilator. This morning his vitals were good so I hope he continues on this path. I love him so much and just not ready for him leave us (me) but I know he’s in God’s hands.
Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

Of course Lucy is an inspiration.
Good picks on your other choices as well.
I don’t think I am smart enough to participate in this meme.

So, of course I am tearing up over the last song. Yes, Lucille can well stand in for Lucy. Your other selections were enjoyable, too. I haven’t seen too much footage of the Beatles rooftop concert but, as you said, they did so many songs mentioning animals. Alana ramblinwitham

I am pretty sure the roof-top concert was the last public appearance of the Beatles as a band.
