Aww…some Monday

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This is a freedom of choice week at 4M. A couple of weeks I featured an iconic female vocalist/musician from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s in the person of Bonnie Raitt. Today I am going to focus my attention on a male singer/songer who’s music spans from 1964 to 2016. He has written songs for and preformed with virtually every major country music star in every decade during his career. He has a uniquely calming voice and a rhyth to his music that is his alone. Perhaps the biggest hit from legend Don Williams is about my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don’s original recording of Tulsa Time is still a favorite in Tulsa.

As good as that original song is, there is an all-star video that I absolutely love and gives the song a whole new life.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Happy Monday. When I was in college, Sheryl Crow lived in the sorority across the street from my dorm. I didn’t know her, but she was probably one of the sunbathers always spread out across their front lawn. Someone tried to set this unknown woman up with an unknown Brad Pitt, but nothing came from it.

The only one of these songs I knew was Tulsa Time and I enjoyed both videos, especially hearing the all stars. It was good hearing the other songs, and I was quite impressed by his voice. It’s one that can be enjoyed whether or not the listener is a country music fan. One talented man. Alana ramblinwitham
