Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aww…some Monday

It’s late in the season but humming birds have shown up at our feeders the past couple of weeks.

Somehow, you just never think of a humming bird hanging out in a tree, but the love our Red Bud tree that is located only a few feet from the feeders.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Sometimes a song takes on a life all it’s own. The following song was written by John Denver as a bit of a lament of an entertainer’s life on the road and time spent away from family. However Peter, Paul and Mary recorded the song, during the Vietnam war and it took on a whole new identity as a protest song. When a combat soldier is deployed he/she doesn’t know if they are coming home in a seat or a box. Fortunately, I came home in a seat and only a little worse for wear. Here is Leaving on a Jet Plane.

I never understood the true meaning of the song when it first came out. We can be grateful for all those who came back in a seat, a gratefulness that wasn’t shown to vets at the times they came home. Alana ramblinwitham

    1. The public could have taken their frustration out at the voting booth, on those who truly make the decisions. Soldiers merely go where they are deployed and engage the adversary that is chosen for them.

Love the video. One of my favorite songs back in the day.
