Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Flea Market Photoshoot…Birds of a Feather

Monday’s Music Moves Me

The theme this week is Dear Diary Day on the National Day calendar. I never kept a diary and I don’t journal now. There are days when I wish I had done both and I suppose this blog is a form of journaling. I do share a lot of information about myself and my family here, but I do keep private things private. The implication is that a journal or diary is the place where one expresses their deepest feelings. Some time later in life the author can look back on certain days and recall the details. There is always the risk that someone else will gain access to these precious moments you have captured on paper, but you can also share them with the ones you love.

Rather than write an entry in a journal or diary, I would prefer to write a thank you note to the Creator. I am ever thankful that God saw fit to place me in the greatest nation on earth and history will show that the Boomers lived through the “Golden Age” of this country. Things have changed the past fifty years and not always for the better. This country is not as safe as it once was. I miss those days for my grand children and now the great grands.

I am especially blessed with the family God has given to me. I wouldn’t trade them for anything. My family is my greatest source of joy. I am thankful for a career in architecture and gave me a great sense of satisfaction. I am thankful that I was blessed with an interest in photography as a young adult and now get to do cool things that can only be done with digital equipment. I am also thankful that the Lord place in me a love for music and that brings us to the choices for today. It will be an eclectic collection that spans the decades of my life from high school to present and ranges from rock to classic hymns. It’s who I am. Enjoy.

Have a blessed week.

    1. I am often surprised how the images look on my computer compared to the small screen in the back of the camera. The peacock is more colorful on a larger screen because more of the details are visible.

    1. Life is too short to always be looking at the dark side of things. This blog gives me the opportunity to share the fact that all good things come from a single source, the one true living God that created us and loves us more than we will ever know.

  1. Mom has never kept a diary either but for us, since 2011 much of our lives and hers are documented in our blog. We do use it as a tool to remember things quite frequently. Since Mom started taking photos with one of Gramma’s old cameras when she was about seven, the old photo albums also kind of take the place of a journal.

  2. I loved your thank you letter to God. It’s an awesome testament of your faith and devotion to our Creator. I never felt comfortable keeping a record of truly personal details. Our world has changed much regarding privacy and it amazes me how freely some are to divulge sensitive or embarrassing tidbits online.

I enjoy reading about you and your family, sample your music shares, and your creative eye behind the camera. 🙂

Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

    1. I love music and photography, so that’s what you will see represented most often. I consider myself a low end intermediate amateur photographer because I have learned what I need to know to get images that please me. There are a thousand things that I don’t know and so far, I have managed to get along without knowing all there is to know about a hobby that is near and dear to me. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

The thank you note to the Creator is just an opportunity to remind myself and others, “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow” – James 1:17

  3. What cute finds. Birds of a feather do flock together.

I’ve never had a journal, but with blogging many do have a journal. Hadn’t thought of that.

What a wonderful bunch of videos. Well done.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. 🙂

  4. Love the birds! The peacock is my favorite – so very cool! And yes! I started blogging because I didn’t do a baby book, so it was fun to chronicle the milestones – I need to get back to ‘regular’ posts, my memory isn’t what it used to be, so it’s nice to read back from years ago and go “Oh, yeah! I forgot about that!” 😅 Awesome tunes, too! 😁

I am late and I apologize. When I visited briefly last Sunday, I knew I didn’t have time to do your playlist justice. I wanted to, then (well, no excuses) life got away from me. I loved the bird collection. My favorite were the black and white birds. I thought your playlist was so interesting. It may seem strange to say, but the first time I heard the full version of Like a Rolling Stone and not the radio edit without half the verses, it was one of those musical moments one never forgets. Such a profound song. Alana ramblinwitham
