Aww…some Monday
This week will feature some flea market birding. One can find a myriad of ceramic birds at the flea markets. Here is just a sampling.

Monday’s Music Moves Me
This week the theme at 4M is about baseball. April 2nd America’s favorite past time for many started up again for professional baseball players. You don’t have to be a fan but it could be fun to pick songs that include the teams’ mascot. Stretch this prompt to fit your play set however you want! Back on March 24th I posted images from our trip to Major League spring training in Arizona. I still have a few to share, so here goes.

That spring training trip was a good one, so much to see and what a great opportunity thanks to your granddaughter.

Fabulous photos! I always like seeing your pictures. Nice song collection. My favorite is “Buy a Boy a Baseball”. I like the line give a boy a Bible, teach him how to pray. Nicely done, have a boogietastic week! 🙂

“Buy a Boy a Baseball” is pretty much the message of Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way they should go…”.

I thought they were real birds at first. My mom had 2 or 3 of these types. They were so delicate.

That’s the reason I photgraph them at the flea market. They’re too delicate to bring home.

Those are such lovely ceramics. American robin, male downy woodpecker, and Baltimore oriole. and I wonder if the first two were made by the same company If you had a ceramic northern cardinal, and a blue jay, you could have made a baseball pairing with the Baltimore oriole. I didn’t know any of your song picks but I loved the video in the first one, and I loved the singing (Kenny Rogers had such a great voice) in the second. Alana ramblinwitham

Bluejays, like real life, are uncommon in ceramics, but I love the idea of finding major league references in the pieces.

It’s always a delight to see your photos. The trip was amazing, I’m so glad you got to visit and see what your granddaughter does for yourselves.
Buy a Boy a Baseball is surely one of the best pieces of advice. If every man raised his son this way, the world would have fewer problems.

The Arizona trip was a special treat for us, but we intend to go again if possible. As I mentioned above, the message of “Buy a Boy a Baseball” is basically found in Proverbs 22:6. If parents would realize they are the most important influence in the lives of their children and take the responsibility of raising them according to God’s instructions, we would indeed have a more sane world to live in.
