Aww…some Monday

This week-end our local airport sponsored a visit from a WWII B-25 Mitchell bomber. For a fee you could take a 30 minute flight! I did not opt to go flying. If they had a Vietnam era Huey helicopter I probably would have been first in line.

Monday’s Music Moves Me
The theme is whatever music moves you. I am going to revisit one of my favorite groups Home Free. The first song is a John Mayher song and ponders the age old soul searching question, what is my personality going to look like and can I change it. Am I going to think and act more like one parent than the other, will I have characteristics of another relative. If I don’t like something about myself, can I change or is it ingrained in my DNA?
As a child of the ’60’s, I grew up with hot rods and muscle cars. Big engines, big horsepower and the ticket to our independence. When I came home from Vietnam I bought a Ford Mustang and everything about this song was a part of my relationship with my car.
A classic associated with the original queen of country music, Patsy Cline gets a great refresh.
How fun! Although mom was a flight attendant for eleven years, she won’t go on a small plane, only big ones. But these days she doesn’t want to fly at all.

I understand. Air travel is not nearly and fun or exciting as it once was. I would rather drive and see the sights if time allows.

Those old planes are interesting to see, especially the artwork on the side, but I wouldn’t want to fly in one.
Love the ’70s muscle cars! At one time, we had a 1978 Camaro Z28 that lasted almost 20 years. Mustangs were always the most popular, though. You must have loved yours a lot!
Thanks for the introduction to Home Free. Beautiful voices!

If you like Home Free, you need to check out another acapella group called Voice Play. I did love my Mustang until I traded it for a Datsun 240Z and that was a whole new love affair.

I’d be at the airport too. Never miss seeing these old beauties.
I love the videos. Beautiful.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. 🙂

A local resident (one of the Walton grand kids) is an avid pilot and owns a P51 plus a Corsair. There are two other wardbirds in residence at the airport and the make periodic appearances over my house. Love to hear the sound, grab my camera and see if I can capture an image.

That would be so cool to see the old plane with the nose art!
Home Free harmonizes so well. They do a nice job covering Patsy Cline’s hit, but my favorite in this set is “In the Blood”. The message is beautiful! Thanks for joining the fun on the dance floor and have a boogietastic week, my friend.

In the Blood really struck a chord with me.

Would I have bought a ticket to fly on that plane? Probably not (and a definite no on the helicopter-I get motion sick easily) but yes to Home Free. Great harmonies, especially with In the Blood, although I will voice my opinion that Crazy will be, for me, forever Patsy Cline’s. Alana ramblinwitham

Patsy will always own Crazy (written by Willie Nelson) but I have heard some nice covers from LeeAnn Rimes, Linda Ronstadt, and now Home Free.

My husband and brother-in-law would have gone nuts to fly in one of those.
Great music!

my hubby would be so envious that you owned a classic Mustang. I just listened to all the songs here and it was fun. You deserve great respect for fighting in the Vietnam War and dealing with coming home to people who were not fans.
