Aww…some Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aww…some Monday

We have a pair of 4’x8′ raised bed gardens, placed about 4′ from our fence, in our back yard. One was used to grow cucumbers and okra while the other was all about tomatoes. One tomato plant and a dozen okra plants are all that are left. I caught Rocky Squirrel peeking over the fence to see if I had put out my bird feeders yet. After all, it is August and all the stores have Halloween gear and pumpkin spice everything, so where are my feeders? I typically don’t put them out until the first frost and the birds become more dependent on the supplements. Rocky is just going to have to wait a couple of months.

Meanwhile, the hummingbirds have finally arrived! They are usually here by May or early June, but I have only seen a coulple since June. Last week there have been several at my feeders so I am in full hummingbird photo mode.

They are great fun to watch and a bit of a challenge to photograph.

Patience is the key to getting your best image of the day! Have a blessed week.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Some of you may know that I have been rebuilding or adding to my collection of vinyl records the past couple of years. I got rid of my entire collection a couple of decades ago as well as my original stereo system. About three years ago I decided I wanted another component stereo so I scoured flea markets, FaceBook market place and pawn shops to assemble a budget friendly system. The results meet my needs quite nicely. I now have nearly a hundred vinyl albums ranging from the 1960’s to the latest release from Red Clay Strays. Last week a found Sir Elton John’s Honky Chateau album and a Marshall Tucker Band offering. Since this week is a “whatever music moves you” theme at 4M, I’m going to share a couple of tracks from each. Enjoy.

Bonus track!

  1. What a great shot of that tree rat. They are fun to watch and our Angel Little Bit went crazy watching them in the trees.

Yay on all the vinyl. Not much of that around anymore. Well done.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. 🙂

We have (temporarily, perhaps) taken our bird feeders down. I miss the hummingbirds. I grow flowers just for them but I haven’t seen one yet this year – and they will be leaving by the first week of September. Enjoyed your song selections. We gave our vinyl away years ago to my son and one of his friends and we haven’t had a record player for many years. A part of me is so happy that vinyl has survived. I don’t have a great ear for music quality but my husband agrees that the vinyl sound is warmer and just…better. I don’t miss all the popping sounds of a dirty record, though parts of me miss vinyl, too. Alana ramblinwitham

  3. I love that shot of the hummingbird hovering over the flower! Photography is such a wonderful hobby. I’m looking forward to our upcoming vacation in October. Maybe I can get a few nice shots. Nope, not with my big girl camera. I’ll be using my iPhone…if it doesn’t die. Its battery life has me worried. Oh well…thanks for joining the 4M party. Have a boogietastic week!

  4. Cameras in the new IPhones are very good and some professionals can get incredible results from them. I am just more comfortable with my small mirrorless when we travel and I bring out my big boy DSLR for special shoots locally. I’ve had a DSLR for over 25 years and it’s just what I am confident using when shooting sports and wildlife.
