Farmer’s Market

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Aug 17th August is the Abundant Harvest of Vegetables month. CoolKidFacts says these veggies are in abundance this time of year tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and peas. Use these for inspiration or go with vegetables in general found in artist/band name or song title/lyrics.

In Northwest Arkansas, and for a great part of the country an intense heat wave is burning crops up at a very rapid pace. Our tomatoes and cucumbers are done. Okra is the only thing still producing and I used “Green Onions” last week in my 4M post. I’m still going to try to abide by the rules this week, even though I am tempted to go in a different direction, but I will add fruits to the harvest. Have a blessed week.

  1. Nice photos for the farmers market and great song choices for this week’s theme. I really goofed up on my end to say the least but I’ll get it right, sort of, next time. Incidentally, I keep forgetting to mention that when you add your URL to the linky party, I’m not sure if you’re aware but you’re not putting the double forward slash in after the https: and it won’t work. I’ve been fixing it each week when I catch it, but thankfully everyone knows who you are and how to find you. Thanks for joining us on the dance floor, my friend.

  2. I will take care of the linky next week for sure. Thanks for letting me know. The farmers market is a target rich environment for photography. As far as song choices go, I’ve always loved music, I like a variety of genres and I’ve lived long enough to have pretty much heard it all. Have a very blessed week.

I should have posted some pictures of past visits to farmers’ markets. I When I worked in downtown Fayetteville , AR (1982) I would spend my lunch hours at the weekday market. It’s 53 years young now! I still like to visit local markets from time to time when I travel I hadn’t even thought of Mashed Potato when I made up my set. You made great fruit choices, plus that potato dance number The delivery of Strawberry Wine was so heartfelt I wondered if the song was autobiographical. It was, I found – for the writer but I think it really echoed feelings of Leana Carter when she was 17. Alana ramblinwitham

  4. As I mentioned, a farmers market is a target rich environment for photography. You can photograph some vendors products, people watching is unequaled, and every week is a dog show. The I discovered that the Bentonville farmers market has existed in some form since 1977. It now takes up the entire square and a block in each direction on some streets. When Chubby Checker recorded “The Twist”, it started a dance craze. There was the “Swim, Mashed Potato”, and a couple of others that were invented in the early sixties. Glad you stopped by today.
