Aww…some Mondays
Butler, MO – Bates County Courthouse
Recently we were in the Kansas City, MO area visiting relatives. On the way home we took a short side trip into Butler, MO. My wife wanted to visit a crochet/quilting supply store. When we arrived on the town square I was stunned by the county courthouse. Small town county courthouses, built on a square make for some very good images and this one certainly did not disappoint. I probably spent thirty minutes just walking around the square and taking photos. I did not have my normal camera with me, so I just pulled out my IPhone and captured a few images. As you can tell, it was a gorgeous day, with blue skies and just enough clouds to make for awesome backgrounds.

Monday’s Music Moves Me
Sep 28th Recently, was International Talk Like a Pirate Day, a fun modern holiday. It would be fun to see where the seven seas take each of you as you share with us songs relating to pirates. I am going to abandon ship and the pirate theme this week to sail my own course.
One of my favorite artists is Vince Gill. He’s been a country music icon for the better part of fifty years and recently launched a new project. Like most song writers, he has a collection of songs that have never been recorded. Vince has pulled some of those songs out of the desk drawer, brought a collection of world class session players together, and recorded an EP every month for the past year. He just released volume eleven. I am going to share a few songs from several EP’s in the project. You can make me walk the plank for my music mutiny this week, but this is my story and I’m sticking to it. Have a blessed week.
No walking the plank today! You had music to share, so that saved you from a terrible fate of shark infested waters or worse still 4Mers being disaapointed because they couldn’t boogie with you. 😀
Vince Gill has a wonderful sound. I really liked the first track! I am still mad at Lady Antebellum for changing the bands name to appease the left narrative but I can’t do anything about other people’s poor decision making.
I love seeing big fluffy clouds across a rich blue sky. Y’all certainly had some beautiful weather and you did a great job capturing such a gorgeous old building! Thanks for joining us on the 4M dance floor, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

Vince has always considered himself a musician first continues to be on of the most sought after session players in Nashville. The courthouse just begged to be photographed on such a beautiful day.

What a beautiful, historic building. I had to investigate further and found it was completed in 1902 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. I enjoyed all your selections (plus a couple more when I didn’t stop the videos in time, lol). The first three songs were mellow easy listening. Just what I needed today Alana ramblinwitham

I suspected the building was historically protected. It is in just too good of condition to be managed solely by local government.
I turn to this Vince Gill project whenever I need something easy on my ears.

It’s more impressive than some county courthouses I’ve seen in Texas and that isn’t easy.

When small towns are built around a square, there is the possibility of a great city hall or county courthouse.

More often than not, there is an architectural treasure to be found on the square, or the square itself is a gem worth photographing.

the building is really nice. You captured it so well with the blue sky. No walking the plank or being keel-hauled, this was good to get away from the pirates
