Awesome Monday

This week I am using the tag Awesome instead of the usual Aww…some Monday because we have another graduation to attend. The grandson and youngest of the grand crew will graduate high school this coming Saturday morning. It is an awesome achievement but a bittersweet time realizing that all the grand crew are now young adults. The time has passed so quickly but we have been blessed having them all grow up in our town. Nana and I have been to numerous baseball games, basketball games, and choir concerts the he has participated in. We would not have missed this for the world. Future plans for him currently include trade and entering the workforce.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week the theme at 4m is cars and racing in honor of the upcoming Indy 500. I grew up in the 60’s muscle car era so finding songs about cars and racing is truly in my wheelhouse, so I have decided to put just a bit of a spin on the theme. In the 60’s, if you were at the height of your professional career, a country music star, or just wanted to ride in the lap of luxury, you owned the biggest car on the planet…a Cadilliac!

Aww…some Monday

To be perfectly honest, it was an Aww…some week-end. Friday we made the three hour drive to celebrate the college graduation of our middle grand daughter.

Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. the graduation ceremony at University of Central Arkansas began.

As you can see, our seats were pretty high in the arena and they happened to be on the opposite side from where the grand daughter was located.

Fortunately my telephoto lens saved the day. We found her and she found the camera and gave us a wave. That smile of pride and relief did not leave her face all day.

Again our seating location prevented me from capturing her facial expression when she received her diploma.

The proud graduate is now looking forward to graduate school which begins in July. Two more years and she will have her masters degree in sports therapy. Her goal is to be a trainer on a major league baseball team or NFL. That’s a lofty goal but don’t be surprised if I am blogging about it in a few years.

Proud parents, proud grand parents, and proud family. It was AWW…SOME!!!

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This week is a free choice theme week at 4M. Yesterday was Mother’s day and here’s wishing that all of the mothers, grandmothers and great-grand mothers had a blessed celebration with family and friends, making memories with those who make you happy. So in honor of the marvelous women in our lives, here are few songs about moms. Have a blessed week.

Aww…some Monday

Saturday morning I drove to the local farmers market, on the town square. It’s a little early in the season to expect much in the way of veggies, but there was plenty of jelly’s, cinnamon rolls, and craft items. There is always a unique collection of people and pets.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

This is a freedom of choice week and 4M. Saturday night Garth Brooks performed at the football stadium where the Arkansas Razorbacks play. He sold out an 80,000 seat stadium! There are very few artists that have been recording for over 30 years and can still sell out a stadium, none in country music other than Garth. Garth turned 60 in February and this is his farewell stadium tour. One only has to look at the stage to realize how much work it takes to put on one of his shows. So as a tribute to one “Okie” from another, this week will feature Garth Brooks music. Enjoy.

Aww Mondays

This week I can cover two themes at once. It is Aww Monday so I am supposed to post an image that makes the viewer go “Aww-w-w” and the theme for Monday’s Music Moves Me is songs that celebrate Pet Owners Independence Day which is supposed to be a day that pet owners are able to just lay around the house and the pets are supposed to try an bring home the paycheck. Use songs with these in the title or band name  dogs, cats, birds, or pets in general. Lucy is in luck, both of us are retired so there is no job to go to. Okay, here we go.

This is Lucy’s baby picture. She was 10 weeks old and just over 5 lbs. when we brought her home. Lucy is a Christmas baby, born on December 24, 2016. She came home to live with us in March of 2017. Every day is a better day with Lucy in the house.

Her first favorite toy was this duck. She would fetch it and play with it until those baby teeth finally chewed a hole in the binding. Lucy is about 6 moths old here.

At 5-1/2 years of age, Lucy is mature young lady that loves everybody, loves to go get the mail, and still loves to play fetch. She is one Awesome dog!!!
