Awe…some Mondays…Music Moves Me

This past Saturday I went to a local car show. I love muscle cars and hot rods, so this was a great opportunity to photography some rolling art.

This little 1946 Ford pickup truck won “Best Hot Rod”. It really has a classic hot rod look to it  and I really like the low gloss paint. It looks like a work in progress.

This also looks like it was built by the owner (and it was) instead of some custom shop. I like the fact that this is a hands on build and the owner knows every nut and bolt on this ride.

The engine pretty much speaks for itself. Very nicely done.

Monday’s Music Moves Me

Once again its an open theme week at 4M. The classic hot rod brings thoughts of Dick Clark, American Bandstand and high school hops. So the music selection this week isn’t quite as important as the activity. Get out on the dance floor and shake a leg!!!

  1. The cars are awesome and the dance routines are too. I watched all three. I liked the music on the second one best, but the first two could really dance the best.

    Have a fabulous and awe…some Monday. 🙂

    1. I thought it was interesting how the more contemporary music was well suited to the vintage swing dance. And yes, I enjoyed the first two a little better than the third couple, but all three were very talented.

  2. Driller,

WOW, those old cars look furtastic! It amazes me the care some people put into these vintage beauties. Oh, I loved all of your mewsic clips with the dance performances! The first video is my favorite. Nils & Bianca did a fabulous job together. Thanks for stepping out on the dance floor with the 4M gang this week. Have a pAwesome day!

I envy people who can dance well! It looks like they’re having so much fun! As for me, well…I’m one of those who just has to dance like nobody’s watching!

My Dad raced when I was younger and was into sports cars in a major way for most of my life. He passed last year, and his widow offered to let me buy either of his beloved classics (he had a ’57 Bel Air and a ’65 Chevy II/Nova) for what they paid for them. Sadly, I was unable to take her up on her generous offer. Even if I’d been able to come up with the money for either of them, I just don’t know as much about them as he did and I’m not sure I’d have been able to keep them running, let alone in good shape.
